We’re moving into a chaos point where politics becomes the central spiritual imperative and a deep integral spirituality becomes the central political imperative.” Jim Garrison

The inseparability of spirituality and politics has been brought front-stage by peace advocates such as the Dali Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Aung San Suu Kyi, the Quakers and many others. Spiritual practitioners can no longer fantasize about enlightenment while avoiding the cries of the world for help.

In this workshop we will learn of the evolution of spiritual-political consciousness from Aristotle to You. In addition, we’ll explore what it means to be a spiritual-political practitioner today. This includes playfully examining our own beliefs about government, politics, individual rights and spirituality.

With Muslim suicide bombers in the Middle East, Christian martyrs blowing up abortion clinics in the US and Buddhist gassing the subways in Japan, spiritual codes of morality seem to be bankrupt. What in the devil is going on with spirituality?!? This workshop focuses on, “What does it mean to live a moral life?” We’ll explore that question as seen through the eyes of the contemplative spiritual traditions. This will entail a look at the fearless morality of someone those traditions calls a Bodhisattva, Spiritual Warrior, or Spiritual Actualizer of The All Good. Participants will:

Learn the levels of moral development common to all spiritual traditions.

Explore how you can actualize the Unconditional Qualities of The All Good.

Use ethic-building meditations and prayer to dissolve negativity.

Work with Shadow-unearthing techniques to liberate oneself from darkness.

Look at issues of ethical behavior in the Teacher-Student relationship.

Receive practical tools for growth and development.

“One of the things that American spiritual practitioners really find healing is enriching their intimate connection with The Divine, be that Atman, The Christ, Buddha or One-ness. As a culture, we find it hard to surrender to a Higher Power.” — Anonymous Spiritual Teacher

An Exploration of Prayer, Meditation, Deity Mysticism, Devotion and Communion with Godhead/Buddha

In this workshop, we’ll see what Eastern spiritual traditions have to say about the necessity of meditation, prayer and devotion on the spiritual path. Participants will explore their relationship with The Divine utilizing meditations and contemplative exercises. We’ll also look at research on levels of Faith Consciousness that will yield insight into the minds of terrorists and suicide bombers as well as mystic saints and sages. Participants will learn:

How to intimately commune with The Divine as you understand It.

The different types of prayer and levels of Love on the spiritual path.

The evolving Stages of Faith Consciousness common to all spiritual paths.

Learn the contemplative game, “What Color is Your Jesus?”

Gain insight into your own spiritual journey.

Receive practical tools for personal growth and healing.

This workshop will utilize meditation, prayer, art, music and film chips to help open our hearts and minds to a greater awakening of Spirit. The purpose is to provide support and insight into one’s innate, always already Basic Goodness and enlightened nature.

There will be a very rare documentary featuring Ram Das and Krishna Das on devotional prayer and chanting during the lunch break. A lite lunch will be provided, but participants my wish to go out to eat.

This experiential workshop will examine meditation practices and spiritual principles from Eastern derived wisdom traditions that have taken root in American culture over the past 40 years. We’ll look at what those traditions have to say about sanity, love, relationships, compassion and living life to its fullest potential. We’ll also see what Eastern spiritual traditions have to learn from us to bring them “up to speed” with our technocracy and jet-fueled life styles. In this workshop, participants will learn:

Principles and techniques of life transforming meditations.

Better understand the workings of mind, Mind and Spirit.

Evolutionary Spirituality and The Two Truths Doctrine.

How to navigate the different levels of spiritual growth.

How to increase one’s Love, Joy, Compassion and Peace.

How to gain a deeper appreciation of one’s own spiritual journey.

Receive practical tools for self-growth and healing.

Participants will be introduced to meditation and energy practices as well as art, music and film clips that arouse their open hearts and minds, helping them enliven their daily lives.

There will be a documentary on Sunday featuring American spiritual teachers discussing Evolutionary Spirituality during lunch break. There are restaurants near the workshop, or participants may choose to bring their own lunch.
